Description :

A handsome oak bookcase with substantial upright posts, rounded edges, and visible wood-plug details. Its open back and sides give books and collected objects room to stand out, while the warm grain and simple geometric construction bring a familiar mid-century modern character.

Details

  • Five horizontal surfaces, including the top, three interior shelves, and bottom shelf.
  • Adjustable interior shelf positions, with support holes visible along the inner uprights.
  • Open back and sides with substantial rectangular posts and softened edges.
  • Circular wood plugs conceal fasteners at the frame connections.
  • Warm brown oak surfaces with prominent grain; solid versus veneered construction throughout is unconfirmed.
  • Maker and exact production date are unconfirmed.

Measurements

  • Approximately 40" wide × 17.75" deep × 71.25" high.

Highlights

  • Generous shelf depth accommodates books, baskets, ceramics, and larger decorative pieces.
  • Open construction and adjustable shelving offer flexibility without a visually heavy cabinet back.
  • Historical note: Mid-century modern furniture emphasized practical storage, clear structural forms, and the natural character of wood. This bookcase reflects that design approach through its straightforward frame, open silhouette, and prominent oak grain; its specific maker and date remain unconfirmed.

Condition

Previously owned with scratches, scuffs, scattered pale marks, and finish wear.  Please review all detail photographs.
