Details crew, schedule of events, mission objectives, lunar roving vehicle details, general lunar data & landing site as well as Apollo 16 vehicle characteristics, the back-up crew, and overview of previous Apollo missions. 12 printed pages. ON THE MOON WITH APOLLO 16 - A GUIDEBOOK TO THE DESCARTES REGION by Gene Simmons. Softcover with staples, April 1972, NASA EP-95 (Washington DC) 90 pages. Includes landing site description, science activities on the surface (seismic experiments, cosmic ray detections, etc.), orbital science activities (x-ray fluorescence, mass spectrometer experiment, etc.) and crew information. Also includes numerous tables.. APOLLO 16 LAUNCH INFORMATION FROM MCDONNELL DOUGLAS ASTRONAUTICS. Softcover with staples. No publication date. Very technical booklet containing "AS 511 Launch Information" with schedules, maneuver & restart diagrams, launch chain interlocks, elevations, and event sequences in minute detail. 56 pages. Attendee program from APOLLO 16 FLIGHT AWARENESS AT THE CAPE COLONY INN AT COCOA BEACH (April 15, 1972). This evening honored many of the professionals that made the mission possible along with manufacturers & suppliers as well as Space Center Employees & NASA employees. Pretty much a Who's Who of aerospace industry during the period.
