Description :

Amazing lot for anyone fantasizing about being a jet fighter pilot! All items are authentic (our client was a Air Force Phantom jet fighter pilot IRL) and while most items have been used, they are in great shape unless otherwise noted.

Flight Suit  - this is the real thing worn by our client. Has zip-front closure with 2-way zipper, Velcro waist adjustment w/elastic belt band, a pair of zip breast pockets, pocket with zip on left sleeve, Velcro cuff closures, armpit ventilation holes, thigh pocket w/ zip closure, shin pockets with zip, boot gussets with zip, hip pockets with through access for pants pockets, and rank bars on shoulders. It has been worn (visible repair to lower left thigh area and some zipper welt wear as well as a small hole in the arm pocket & some occasional pulls/snags), but still great for that would-be pilot! No size tag, but client was on smaller side - this suit would probably fit females, too . Measures 20" pit to pit, 17.5" side to side at waist, and 55" from shoulder seam to pants hem.

43rd Tactical Squadron stickers (2 small & one large - large measures 11.5" top to bottom). Based in Florida, this is one of the first tactical squadrons in existence and it also served in Alaska during the Cold War.

8 sew-on polar bear insignia patches - we believe these are vintage  Alaska Defense Command patches (measure 2.5" across). Note: they appear to be of varying vintage - some with black on the bear's face. Some have been used, but all are in good shape - see photos.

THE NEW TIGERS - THE MAKING OF A MODERN FIGHTER PILOT by Herbert Molloy Mason, Jr.  Hardcover. 1973, David McKay Inc (New York NY). 263 pages. In good used condition. Book details the Tactical Air Command process and what goes into the training of these pilots.
