Description :
Desktop model
of Radioplane Company’s RP-77D Drone Target Missile. This is an older model;
probably from the late 1950s – it is solid metal and rests on a lightning bolt pillar. The base has a single pin mount, beveled edges &
incised labeling on the base. This base appears to be correctly labeled, but we are not sure this was the original base as the plane has a small hole at the end under its tail. The model has a smooth red & cream enameled
surface. It appears there were propellers on the front of the model at one
time, but they have disappeared over the years; even so, it has exquisite
lines. Condition is generally good except for the missing propellers (!). Note that the pin in the support pillar likes to slide down and a there are couple of rubs in the red
paint. Like the other models, this could use a good scrub. Measures approx. 6” H x 10” L with 9” wingspan.
