Description :
These two wind-up
robots are essentially twins new and old and would make a lovely display paired
together. Both could use a good scrub as they have been packed away in storage
for many years.
The original
older robot is from Nomura Ishizuka of Japan circa 1956. He is showing his age
with lots of scrapes and a bit of rust here and there. The battery pack on his
back has the Nomura trademark and he wears a plastic helmet. We wound him up
& his legs move, but he wobbles drunkenly and falls over. He’s rather
unsteady on his legs even standing, so he’d be better off positioned as a
display model. Measures approx. 7.5” H.
His buddy, a
newer version of the same robot, would probably move much better, but his
wind-up key has been lost somewhere in his travels, He’s in very nice condition
with minimal wear and also sports a plastic helmet (alas, his helmet cannot be removed like his buddy's). We are certain he would
work if the buyer has an extra winding key. There is no maker mark on this guy,
but we are guessing he’s probably from the late 1980s or early 1990s given our client’s enthusiasm for robots during that period. Measures approx.
8.5” H.
