Description :
Pair of vintage
motorized models from maker Monogram – Cyclone & Mustang
Monogram
Models’ Cyclone 9 Radial Aircraft Engine kit from 1959, Model # PE252M-298.
This electric motorized model of the
Wright Cyclone airplane engine is 65 years old, but most of the parts are still
in their original bags or attached to their plastic frames. We don’t know
enough about this model to say if it is complete, but it sure looks like it is
to us. Besides the parts in red & grey plastic, there is an instructional
book, an explanation of how the engine works, power operations manual, hobby
catalog, and label plate for the model. Also includes a stand for the engine.
Original box is in pretty good condition for age with only one torn corner and
some soiling/wear.
Monogram
Models’ Phantom F-51D Mustang model aircraft kit from 1961, Model #PA67- 498. The aircraft is translucent
so you can see its inner workings; it also has a mechanical drive and two
electric motors (takes 2 “D” batteries). Like the previous model, we are unsure
if the kit is complete, but there is A LOT of stuff here and our cursory
inspection/gut tells us it is complete given our client’s collecting habits.
There is an informational manual on the plane in IRL along with lists of
parts and assembly guide. The plane sits on a pylon base (it is there for sure)
and can “drop bombs”, operate propeller, and release landing gear. Please look
closely at the photos or details – the motors appear to be in original plastic
domes and many of the pieces haven’t been snapped from their frames. The
completed model has 14” wingspan. Original box is in good vintage shape with a
couple of torn/split corners.
