ABOUT THE MIXER

The Onyx 820i from Mackie is an 8-channel audio mixer with a built-in FireWire computer audio interface. While FireWire is an older technology, the mixer works great for a podcasting setup or a small studio.

It features a meticulously designed audio mixer section with flexible capabilities for both the studio and the stage. You can tap into the power of computer recording in new ways with its deep DAW integration. The fact that the 820i is fully compatible with Pro Tools M-Powered 8 software really makes it a full-featured audio tool that can adapt to any situation.

ABOUT THE STUDIO MONITORS

The Reveal 501A studio monitor speakers from Tannoy provide a compact and inexpensive way to monitor audio; ideal for use in home, project, and mobile studios. The cabinets have a 5" low-distortion low/mid driver and a 1" soft dome tweeter to provide a wide frequency response. A front firing bass-reflex port helps to extend low frequency response as low as 64Hz. The cabinets also have a rigid, sculpted front baffle to minimize diffraction and provide clear stereo imaging. The monitors each have total amplifier power of 60W to provide clear, strong audio with low distortion. The rear panels have XLR and 1/4" input connectors, allowing you to connect to a variety of sound systems and devices. A rear-panel volume control and HF trim switch let you adjust the monitor's response to match your environment.
