Description :
This set of three Danny Mayes prints features his signature rainy‑day street scenes, each depicting figures walking with brightly colored umbrellas reflected across wet pavement. The compositions use loose, expressive brushwork and bold color contrasts—reds, yellows, greens, and blues set against soft gray atmospherics—to create movement and mood. The figures are simplified yet dynamic, capturing the rhythm of urban life in the Pacific Northwest. Each print is signed and numbered, showcasing Mayes’ recognizable blend of gesture, color, and everyday storytelling. Danny Mayes is a Pacific Northwest painter known for expressive acrylic and watercolor works depicting Seattle neighborhoods, maritime scenes, Alaska landscapes, and regional daily life. Born in Tacoma, Washington, he developed a distinctive style defined by gestural brushwork, strong color contrasts, and a lively sense of motion. He studied at the Burnley School of Commercial Art in Seattle (later the Art Institute of Seattle), where he trained under William Cumming, a leading figure of the Northwest School. This foundation shaped his confident line work and his ability to capture atmosphere with minimal, intentional strokes. Mayes’ work has been shown in respected regional venues, most notably the Kirsten Gallery in Seattle, which represented his paintings for many years. His art has appeared in numerous Pacific Northwest exhibitions and is held in private and corporate collections, including those of the Seattle Seahawks, the Seattle Mariners, and collectors throughout Washington and Alaska.Artist Bio — Danny Mayes
